In my confusion, I implored the Lord Dionysos
with these words, “O Gentle and Wise Master,
what is the point? What is the goal? I am so lost.”
And he smiled and gave answer:
To become like the vine.
To put down deep roots.
To live fully.
To be patiently transformed.
To bear sweet fruit in season.
To embrace fall and decay
as an essential part of the cycle.
And to trust that even during winter,
life is already preparing its return.
