Veistu, hvé rísta skal?
Veistu, hvé ráða skal?
Veistu, hvé fáa skal?
Veistu, hvé freista skal?
Veistu, hvé biðja skal?
Veistu, hvé blóta skal?
Veistu, hvé senda skal?
Veistu, hvé sóa skal?
Know how to rist?
Know how to read?
Know how to paint?
Know how to pry?
Know how to ask?
Know how to offer?
Know how to send?
Know how to sacrifice?

For every time I want to say yes to some, I should instead say “it’d be nice. ”
I draw from Runes I cut and stained every day. But following their conclusion with authority is another matter. All I can claim is an effort.

An effort is more than most people put in. And I think, especially with mysteries such as these, the more sincere effort we put in, the richer the fruit that we receive in return.

You know. It’s funny. in my Paganing, the baseline has been “I learned Runes, I am Wizard.” This was something a pair of friends I have (Cabot Witches) made heavy notice of. Though, I do maintain one *should* be literate in at least one Rune Row. I use Anglo-Saxon and Elder. Mostly A-S.
Another thing I walked away with from another group was the knowledge that we’re all most of us basically self-initiated. Which doesn’t seem like a betrayal of Óðinn’s lessons transfixed on Yggdrasil.
But, yes. I think I have seen the hands of the Gods moving in life. In a way that my older skeptic self would have found disquieting.

nicely done. there’s a way to chant these that brings the whole process to life. and knowing how to sacrifice — yes. if you cannot do that, you’ll never understand the runes.

And I love that Veistu, hvé blóta skal? and Veistu, hvé sóa skal? are separate questions.
