Or perhaps you’d prefer my Freyja playlist. Warning: it’s quite large. But this is probably my favorite song on it. Brings a tear to my eye every fucking time, man.

Yup. And Potnia Theron is sort of a generic title or role that various Goddesses can step into (Artemis, Athene, Aphrodite, etc) and I suspect that if an Archaic Greek had encountered Freyja they’d have included her in that category too.

The use of the sun wheel there is interesting — I’ve often thought that Sunna and the Vanir work closely together.

Makes me wonder if it’s a salmon.

I think there’s a connection between the sea and the Vanir through Njord…I’ve always thought that Freya as Mardoll has an affinity for the water, beach, etc. :)
San. that’s really interesting about Potnia Theron. (WordPress on my Mac won’t let me “like” comments on your blog, though apparently I can actually comment all I want. I like all the above comments LOL).

Oh, that’s a really good point, plus ship graves are associated with the Vanir.
How weird that it won’t let you “like” comments – I see the button, are you able to?

I can see it but when I click it pops up a blank new window but doesn’t actually DO anything. I think it’s. weird setting on my end, not yours. pain in the butt though.
Good point about ship burials!
