Earthquakes are actually a common occurrence. I’ll spare you the scientific mumbo jumbo and leave it at they are the product of a living planet that is constantly evolving. The more disastrous earthquakes are just the more dramatic versions of a phenomenon that occurs on a small scale just about everyday which factors into the various natural cycles that make life on Earth possible
