Lately my arcolatry obsession has had me reading up on the Bear’s Son Tale, particularly in its Jean de l’Ours expression.

Speaking of arcolatry, the Bear Hunt is coming up this weekend for Antinoan practices…April 21st, which was also a number of other things for Romans, and is also a day that Hadrian had several buildings at his Villa, and also the Pantheon, aligned spatially to so that the sunrise on those days came through the oculus or different windows and illuminated spots on the walls or areas of buildings that were important. It’s something I’m going to keep in mind if I ever have things built in the future! :)
