This Roman dish, called tiropatinam, comes from gourmand Marcus Gavius Apicius’ De re coquinaria (7.13.7) and serves four, taking approximately 20 minutes to make.
2 ¼ cups milk
3 tblsp honey
a pinch of ground pepper
Sweeten your milk with honey, then add the eggs and mix it all together until smooth. Cook on a low heat until firm, then sprinkle with pepper and serve.
