Each land has its own Ariadne
– that is who the Basilinna must become.
If she tries to emulate another place’s Ariadne
it will be of no benefit to her own land.
Without the union in the ox-shed
there will be no flowers or swollen grapes
in their proper season.
The maenad holds the torch and the kantharos
– this is how the ineffable mystery is consummated.
